Welcome to Static!

This is allow all characters of all types and all ages! This includes alternate-universe, genderswapped canons, originals, minors, historical people, and non-humans. However, with this freedom, mods will be harsher with disciplinary action towards members breaking a basic set of rules.

Static is an open multi-fandom sandbox with the plot evolving based off how characters describe, build, and manage the infinite malleable world within.
You are taken from some point in your world, and transported to the labyrinth of static. Upon waking, you hear a buzzing, see static all around you for a few minutes before it clears (perhaps you are still wet from the lake, or cut from the mirror).

You remember everything up til the point when you arrived. Because you didn't buy a ticket, oh no. You fell. Depending on your time period, you either fell into a lake, tripped into a mirror, or got sucked into your t.v. - literally. Now you are here, and for some reason, nothing in your power is getting you out of this place. Might as well make the best of it while you can.

You cannot die here, people just regenerate. You cannot age. But you can still feel pain, and suffer - and joy, and love. You don't need to eat, or sleep - technically, though you will imagine the phantom effects of hunger, and weariness (are other emotions just phantom feelings too?). You don't have a bed time and there is no chores, or work. Maybe this place isn't so bad after all.

As you explore, you will open many doorways. Each time you do, the room you enter starts off as an infinite stretch of overlapping geometric shapes in shades of white and grey, and in a few blinks, the room transforms to however you imagine it. With some focus, you can even have a design in mind before you enter a room and watch it transform as soon as you open the door.

While each room has an unlimited number of ways it can be visualized, and will appear as vast as a downtown with a full skyline, or an open ocean that stretches as far as the eyes can see, an invisible wall will stop you from traversing beyond the rooms preset dimensions, and you need simply open a door in the crafted environment, dive into the ocean, etc., to move onwards.

But beware, some rooms contain glitches - which can trap you in a room for an indefinite amount of time, or present challenging puzzles in order to make your way out. Such rooms are waking nightmares, so explore with some trepedition. Venturing in groups may be the best idea; characters who escape nightmares may not return to any room they have been in before, but perhaps a room of someone else's creation, and have difficulty navigating their way back. Meet up zones are also encouraged.

Happy travels. Do enjoy your stay. [For more technical info on room and game mechanics, see guides within.]
